Decision > Habit

The decision increases the focus;

it keeps helping you to build

the right habits.

There are many books written on success systems among which the most popular ones are based on building habits. Authors have even proved that a good habit can make incremental success over the year. But my observation, application, research and findings say that a success-system starts from a decision, whereas habit comes after.

  • You need to work deeply with your decision, not quickly.
  • You need to accept, own and feel the decision.
  • You need to be the decision.

The decision increases the focus; it keeps you building the right habit. If a habit makes the outcome 1% better every day (James Clear 2018), then a habit founded on the right decision multiplies the 1% every additional day. And emotion is like fuel, you need to filter the fuel based on the decision as well. When you know what fuel causes you to flow – how you are best encouraged, inspired and stable with your decision – you move in the right direction faster. That is when you grow exponentially.

Mindspeed Model

When you decide to pursue your ambition, you are often seen as selfish (or a bit insane!). With ambition, some people walk far away from their core self and some people rediscover themselves. Personally, I am a fan of being ambitious. Being ambitious is about continuous growth, continuous personal development and readiness to embrace the change over time. It is not a mission or project with a beginning and an end. It is a process or system to create new success milestones over time.

Onwards,

Ayesha
